THE RULES

Do you have what it takes when the pressure is on? Who’s the best putter: you or your buddies? Step up and find out. We put the “dough” in the phrase: “Drive for Show, Putt for Dough.”  Who is eligible? Charities, leagues, and winners of local qualifiers (see details below)
Charities: One entrant is accepted from a single charity event. For example, a charity could hold  it’s own putting contest. The charity determines the final contestant to enter into Capitalareagolf’s semi-final putting contest. When they compete, they will be listed with that charity, adding to the publicity of their cause.
Leagues: One entrant is accepted from each league. For example, a registered league could hold a  fundraising putting contest during its season, or a 50/50, or other competition to determines the final contestant to enter into Capitalareagolf’s semi-final putting contest.
Open qualifiers: One entrant from each qualifier. All open qualifying contests must be approved and registered with CapitalAreaGolf.com. Courses can raise funds for their own junior golf or charity programs. The local course sets up its own rules of competition. As an example – competitors could pay for their chance (i.e. 3 balls for $10) to putt to a hole from  a certain distance. The event date and time will be determined by the course. (example: Noon-3:00PM). The competition determines the final contestant to enter into Capitalareagolf’s semi-final putting contest.
Roll offs: Held mid-October at a location to be determined. If entrants total more than 25, a 15 foot target hole competition will be held to narrow the field. All entrants take one putt – all entrants holing out, or ten closest to the hole, move on to 30-foot target. Note:  Competitors may face different putts as there may be a number of different 15 foot putts to challenge the competitors (All competitors will be allowed two minutes collectively to look over their 15 footer. Not two minutes per putter.)
Semifinals: 30-foot target – Hole out, or closet to the hole, until only one contestant remains. (Contestants will be allowed four minutes collectively to look over the 30-footer. Not per putter.)
Final putt: The semi final winner of the 30 foot competition takes one 50-foot putt for $50,000! (Contestant will be given six minutes to look over the 50-foot final putt.)
ENTRY FEES:
$100 per course, league or charity entrant or 20% (the lesser of the two) of a putting or other fund raising contest used to determine semifinal participant. The entry fee covers the entrants’ participation in the semi finale and the final competition. All participants will be placed in a drawing for some great gifts.
The money raised (minus entry fee) supports the sponsoring charity or cause. The nominal entry fees paid to Capitalareagolf.com cover event expenses and fund grants for local junior programs. A Capitalareagolf PGA professional is available to assist and over see the fund raiser event for participating organizations.
