The annual Jake Straughter Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Monday, September 26, on two of the top courses in the Capital Area – Wolferts Roost CC and Shaker Ridge CC – and again this year they will be joined by former PGA professional Jeff Klauk and 2012 ReMax World Long Drive Champion (Senior Division) Eric Lastowka.

This annual tournament is named in memory of the grandson of Mike Hoffman, President of Turf Hotels. Jake Straughter died in 2010 and proceeds go to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York.

Read our story from September 29, 2014 about Klauk’s drive.

“I am committed to working towards finding a cure and helping others overcome the challenges created by epilepsy,” said Hoffman. “I am proud to have my company, Turf Hotels, as the Event Sponsor once again.

“It has always been my belief that fall golf is the best golf of the year and this is a great opportunity to play one of two spectacular courses.”
The day begins with lunch at your assigned course, followed by golf, including food and wine tastings on the course.  After golf, all players and participants will join for a cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres, gourmet food stations, live auction, raffles and an awards celebration at Wolferts Roost.

Proceeds from the tournament support research, as well as the programs and services provided by the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York – including information and referral, service coordination, counseling, support groups, first aid training and education in schools, for first responders and in the business community.

One in 26 Americans will develop epilepsy at some point in their lifetime. The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is a valuable resource that provides information and assistance to thousands of people with epilepsy each year in twenty-two counties covering the Capital Region, the North Country, and the Upper Hudson Valley.  Your generous support of this event will help the Foundation continue its important work on behalf of the more than 45,000 people affected by epilepsy in northeastern New York.

For more information, please contact Susan Kaczynski, Director of Development, (518) 456-7501 or skaczynski@epilepsyneny.org.

For those considering sponsorship opportunities, a variety of levels are available from $400 up to $5,000.

“I am confident you will be quite satisfied with the amount of exposure your company will receive at each of these levels,” said Hoffman.
Tee signs are $400 each or two signs (with name/logo on the Tee and on the Green) for $700. Signage noted below listing your company name/logo will be displayed on both courses.
