Golfers wanting want to experience all the newest equipment available, as well as receive special clearance discounts on the remaining 2017 merchandise, should plan to visit Northway Golf Center for its annual Golf Equipment Showcase Friday, Feb. 16, through Sunday, Feb. 19.
Every major brand and every new product release from the 2018 PGA Merchandise Expo in Orlando, FL will be available. We’re talking about clubs, balls, bags, carts, shoes, apparel and accessories.
Owner Scott Hoffman said that the relative lack of snow, the recent departure of rival Golf Galaxy-Albany, and the overall optimism from the financial markets – except for a few scary days last week – have sparked tremendous interest in one of the biggest events of its kind in Capital Area golf circles.
“We’ll once again welcome the presence of the factory sales reps to the February season kickoff event we’ve formally coined the ‘Big One!’” Hoffman said.
“Our 2018 new product showcase should provide a great weekend for golfers to preview, demo and purchase – with preseason savings – the latest and greatest, newly released golf equipment.”
Hoffman is bringing in the absolute state-of-the-art equipment from all the major brands.
“TaylorMade has already won on tour with the all new Twist Face technology in the M3 and M4 family,” Hoffman said. “They are promising straighter results on off-center hits this season, and these clubs are sure to garner significant attention.”
For the last few years, and for many seasons before that, Callaway was the king of the hill in driver technology. Hoffman said that company is making a huge impact once again.
“Callaway’s Rogue is new this year with advanced “Jail Break” technology to create faster ball speeds and added forgiveness,” Hoffman said. “Their irons boast enhanced feel through microsphere urethane insert technology.”
Of course, you can’t forget about the newest technology from other familiar companies, like Ping, Cobra and Titleist.
“Ping has just launched the all-new G700 irons and G400 Max driver to round out their 2018 lineup,” he said. ‘The G400 series is now complete with a larger and more forgiving driver, while the G700 irons bring a clean-looking hollow cavity design to the player wanting forgiveness and performance.”
Hoffman added that Cobra has introduced the F8 family of equipment, which incorporates precision milling on the driver for added consistency and expends the smart GPS technology, originally only found on the driver, throughout the whole bag.
“Titleist breaks tradition with the release of the all-new AP3 forged irons, designed with the sweet look and feel of the AP2, while incorporating some added forgiveness for those aspiring to lower their scores,” Hoffman said.
There are also several new golf balls on the market, including the new Titleist Tour Soft and the 2018 Callaway Chrome Soft. Hoffman said Bridgestone golf balls are gaining momentum now that Tiger Woods is on board with that company and has returned to competition.
“All in all, we are excited to welcome the 2018 golf season following the PGA Merchandise Show in sunny Orlando, FL and with it all the great new gear which is pouring in daily to our store,” Hoffman said. “We encourage all those in the market for new equipment this season to join the pros for Northway Golf Center’s 2018 New Product Showcase to learn more about custom fitting and to find out what’s right for their game.”
