The Annual Mayor’s Cup Charity Classic golf tournament to benefit Troy’s Junior Golf Alliance program, formerly known as the “Hook a Kid on Golf program,” will be held at the Frear Park Golf Course on Friday, June 27th.
“The Mayor’s Cup Charity Classic is more than just a fun golf outing – it’s an opportunity to raise money that will allow some of our young people the chance to learn the game of golf and participate in the summer lessons being offered at Frear Park,” Rosamilia said in a statement.
Funds raised through the tournament are used by the Troy Junior Golf Alliance to introduce the game of golf to young people who otherwise may not have an opportunity learn the sport’s skills, techniques, etiquette and rules. Specifically, the funds will be used to pay for scholarships for the five week summer clinic for youth at Frear Park and resources including clubs and equipment.
The tournament’s format is a four-man scramble and will feature prizes including a Long Drive, Closest-to-Pin and a chance to win a new car for a Hole-in-One. The event will also include a 50/50, the opportunity to buy mulligans and prize raffles.
For interested golfers, the cost of registration is $400 per team or $100 for an individual. Entry fees include golf, use of a motorized cart, a continental breakfast and lunch following the event.
To sign up for the event, or for more information, please contact Frank Ciarlo by phone at 518-207-6758 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Businesses or individuals interested in sponsoring the event are also encouraged to contact Ciarlo.
