Schenectady golfers raise funds for national junior golf program
Schenectady Junior golfer program gets strong support from the golf community with the success of Schenectady’s first Hook A Kid On Golf tournament.
Twenty teams of junior golf supporters took over the classic municipal course on Tuesday, enjoying the upgraded facility and municipal grill. With support from Schenectady Mayor Brian Stratton the event provides the solid foundation for the upcoming summer junior golf program.
Success stories from the national program offer Schenectady supporters a view of a seasoned program that many communities have found to be a positive outreach to their youth.
Schenectady’s PGA professionals and volunteers will oversee a five-week program this summer where nearly 90 young people will take five days of golf lessons with input from community leaders on the life lessons golf teaches.
