Bill Lunde picked up his first TOUR win by one shot over J.J. Henry at the Turning Stone Resort Championship.
Lunde earns a spot in next weeks PGA Championship. It will be his second career start in a Major Championship. He missed the cut at the 2003 U.S. Open.
Bill Lunde wins his first TOUR event in his 53rd start at the age of 34 years, 8 months and 21 days.
Bill Lunde’s previous best finish on TOUR was T4 at the 2009 Frys.com Open.
Bill Lunde, a 2008 Nationwide TOUR graduate, missed the cut last year in his only other start at the Turning Stone Resort Championship.
Bill Lunde was four strokes behind leader Alex Cejka entering the final round. It is the third biggest come-from-behind win on the final day this year. Stuart Appleby came from seven strokes back to last week at the Greenbrier Classic, Bubba Watson came from six strokes back to win the Travelers Championship and five other golfers have come from four back this year to win.
Bill Lunde becomes the 12th first time winner on the PGA TOUR this season.
Bill Lunde tied for the most birdies this week with 22.
Bill Lunde’s 73 in the first round is the highest start by a winner on TOUR this season. Rory McIlroy’s 72 was the previous high at the Quail Hollow Championship.
J.J. Henry (2nd) and Jonathan Byrd (T10) shot final round 63s to tie the course record. Chris Couch and Charles Warren shot their 63s in the third round and Peter Lonard recorded his in last years final round.
J.J. Henry notches the fifth runner-up finish of his career. He finished T19 at the Turning Stone Resort Championship in 2008.
J.J. Henry’s lowest final round score is a 62 at the 2008 Wyndham Championship.

Alex Cejka (T3) made the 228th start of his TOUR career. He has two runner-up finishes and two third-place finishes in his career.
Billy Mayfair (T3) has made 11 of 20 cuts on TOUR this year. Mayfair records his best finish on TOUR since 2008 when he had two second-place finishes.
The third-round leader/co-leader has won the Turning Stone Resort Championship twice in the four year history of the event. Bill Lunde came from four strokes back to win this year and Dustin Johnson came from two strokes back in 2008.
Jerry Kelly (T3) records his first top 10 of the season. Kelly has had at least two top 10s every season since 1996 (14 seasons). It is his fifth top 25 of the season. He has had at least seven top 25s each season since 1997.
Nicholas Thompson (T33) shot the first 29 on the back nine at Atunyote Golf Club in tournament history.
Michael Sim (T3) led the field in total putts with 108. It is Sims’ best finish on TOUR since his T2 at the Farmers Insurance Open earlier this year.

The par-4 13th hole played the most difficult this week, yielding a 4.227 stroke average. The par-5 5th hole played the easiest with a 4.520 stroke average.
